First, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a double minor in Technical and Creative Writing. In other words, copywriting is not my fly-by-night gig. I have put in the work to learn the craft and honed my technique over years of experience.
Here's a professional snapshot (stick with me even if you are not in the legal field... please keep reading):
24 years Paralegal experience, both in-house and remote freelance
10 years writing legal blog content for law firms across the country spanning every area of law
5 years as a digital court reporter covering depositions and Social Security Disability hearings
If the legal field is where you professionally reside, I know your world, and your clients, very well.
However, as proud as I am of that work, it is my personal story, more so than the professional one, that I want you to hear. It is only then that you will fully understand how I can help you.
I think we can agree that it would be a pretty big statement for anyone to make the claim of being both a legal and medical expert writer. There would need to be significant proof to backup such a thing. Well, here it is... in addition to the legal experience I bring to the table, I also bring a lifetime (literally... since I was 8 years old) of "rare" medical issues for which I have had to research, learn about, and be my own best advocate for. I am a type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump. I went through menopause when I was 15 years old (yes, you read that right). I have multiple complex autoimmune disorders. I have multiple chronic pain conditions. THEN, as if that was not enough, my husband of 24 years turned out to be one the "rarest patients in the world" (as described by multiple medical professionals) for blood disorders including myelofibrosis, hemolytic anemia, Evans Syndrome and Aplastic Anemia. For the past 20 years, in addition to my own journey, I have been his caregiver and advocate, and boy, do I have a lot to tell about it. We, along with doctors from one end of the country to the other, have spent hundreds of hours researching, making treatment decisions, navigating patient assistance programs, and learning. Drugs, side effects, and mortality rates, OH MY!
So, why do I tell you all of this? Because you wanted to know what makes me different. In a nutshell, it is this... the combination of my professional and personal life experiences allow me to speak to your audiences in an exclusive and unique way. I can connect with patients who need guidance on entering experimental treatments, affording costly prescriptions, or choosing the right doctor. I can speak to living with medical PTSD. I can sympathize with caregivers who are bone tired from fighting day and night to keep their loved one alive. I can intelligently converse with the medical community about the patient experience of an insulin pump, glucose sensor, home infusion routine, or office woes. I can research, and learn, and then write a story about anything and everything. At the same time, I can explain a complicated legal process to your legal clients so that they understand what to expect when they walk through your office door.
Finally, just for good measure, we can also throw in some pretty awesome product descriptions, website pages, marketing materials and a newsletter or two.
THIS is why I am the copywriter for you!
